The project offers advice, information and support to people who provide regular and substantial care for an adult with severe or an enduring mental health problem. The Carers’ Support worker will require some personal details to include condition of the cared for and they will listen to the carer in order to understand their situation and establish the most appropriate information, services and support to help meet the identified needs. The length of time a Carers’ Support worker is involved with a carer may vary.
Two Carers’ Support Group Co-ordinators facilitate and encourage carers’ support groups throughout the county and they provide a valuable source of support, up to date information and social activities for carers.

All our staff respect the confidentiality policy of the projects which states that all information is confidential within the service and carers will be asked for their consent if the worker considers they need to talk to a GP or another agency etc.

The projects receives funding from the Joint Commissioning Board for Mental Health,
therefore there is no charge for these services.
